The St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria (Vinnies) invites media to their major fundraising event tonight. The iconic, annual 2023 Vinnies CEO Sleepout gathers 200+ CEOs and business and community leaders from all industries to raise funds and awareness for homelessness and stimulate conversations to solve the issue.

Where:                 The Timber Yard, 351 Plummer Street, Port Melbourne

When:                  Tonight - Thursday, 22 June: Interview, video and photo opportunities from 6 pm – 9 pm tonight.

Who/What:        from 6:00 pm – various Interview, video and photo opportunities like

Installation “Living in your car” curated with the support of a mother who spent weeks living in a car with her son, preparing for his VCE. The female curator with lived experience is present and available for interviews.

6:30 pm Welcome to Country Smoking Ceremony starts

between 6:00 pm - 9 pm

Interview and photo opportunities with several participants – female and male - (CEOs, Managing Directors, business and community leaders from regional Victoria and Melbourne) Examples:

        • Female CEO of The Sleep Health Foundation, (Melbourne 1st Vinnies Sleepout), available to talk about the horrendous impact of sleeping rough on your health due to disruption and constantly fearing for your safety on your health
        • Female CEO of Jobs for Australia (regional Vic, aged 68, participating in her 9th Vinnies CEO Sleepout) available to talk about her deep concern regarding women in her age group being impacted by homelessness more and more and the issues of finding work when you experience homelessness
        • Male Managing Director, having experienced sleeping rough for several weeks several years ago (regional Victorian town, taking part for its 5th time)
        • Male CEO born overseas (India) who wants to give back to Australian society (2nd time participant)
