·      More than 500,000 people in Australia live with heart failure, approximately 2% of the population.

·      Heart failure is the leading cause of hospitalisation among Australians over 65.

·      Around 1.1 million days of hospital stay are recorded each year due to heart failure.

·      Heart failure contributes to an overburdened healthcare system and costs $3.1 billion annually.

·      Hospital admissions for heart failure are expected to increase by up to 50% in the next 25 years.
