Gold Coast Beauty Brand named on AFR Fast Global List

Roccoco Botanicals 2 mins read

Beauty Brand Roccoco Botanicals has been named on the Australian Financial Review’s Fast Global List which ranks the Australian companies most quickly growing their revenue overseas.

The Queensland based beauty company, which makes award winning products for people with acne-prone and sensitive skins, was ranked 43 on the AFR FAST Global list for its international Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) over the last three financial years.

This is the first year the AFR has ranked Australia's fastest 50 international earners by publishing The Fast Global in association with Quadrant Private Equity.

“I am thrilled and honoured to be recognised as among Australia’s top brands growing and earning overseas. The export market holds such huge potential and Roccoco Botanicals’ success abroad, especially in the United States, underlines how Australian products are in demand well beyond our shores,” said Founder and CEO Jacine Greenwood.

“We make products which use indigenous botanicals with medicinal properties that our first nations people have been embracing for thousands of years. Australia has a reputation for quality and sustainability, so being recognised as one of Australia’s top brands flourishing abroad fills me with pride,” Jacine added.

Jacine Greenwood is an international award-winning Cosmetic Chemist who created the Ruby Crystal Cleanser which won a prestigious Allè award in New York last year. The Allès are like the Oscars of the beauty industry, recognising world-wide ingenuity and innovation in cosmetic formulation.

This year, Jacine is celebrating the tenth anniversary of Roccoco Botanicals which she started from her kitchen table. Roccoco Botanicals now exports to numerous countries with the United States accounting for 80% of sales.

The AFR Fast Global award follows Roccoco Botanicals’ inclusion in AFR Fast 100 2021 List and the Financial Times High Growth Companies of 2022 and 2023. Jacine also won the inaugural Women Changing the World Awards in April, beating global contenders to win the Women in Business category.

The AFR Fast Global aims to serve as inspiration and guidance to the next generation of Australian businesses looking to test their products and services internationally. It’s a mission which entrepreneur Jacine, who began as a nurse and beauty therapist, firmly believes in.

“My daily creed is: Just Go For it! I have learned to track my thoughts and eliminate all the stories and mindsets that are holding me back. This award I hope will inspire other Australians with big ideas and dreams to do everything to reach their goals both at home and internationally and be their best version of success,” said Jacine.

The Queenslander, whose company is headquartered in Yatala, struggled as a teenager and into adulthood with acne, rosacea, seborrheic dermatitis, eczema and acne scarring. Jacine experienced first-hand how skin challenges can impact self-esteem. She created products with women like her in mind, turning her own pain into a successful business, propelled by a desire to make a difference in the lives of skin disorder sufferers.

Growing number of small businesses in dispute over unpaid money: VSBC Annual Report 2023-24

Almost half (41%) of dispute resolution applications to the Victorian Small Business Commission (VSBC) under the Small Business Commission Act were related to unpaid money, according to its Annual Report 2023-24, tabled in parliament today. The VSBC is an independent statutory authority tasked with preventing and resolving disputes faced by small businesses, retail tenants and their landlords. Victorian Small Business Commissioner Lynda McAlary-Smith said this was a reminder for big businesses to pay small enterprises on time. “Small businesses are impacted by late payments in a big way and they’re often in a power imbalance with larger clients, which is…
