  • A contract for a Geotechnical Survey covering the Anning and Somerville field developments has been awarded to Geoquip Marine Operations following a competitive tender and evaluation process.
  • Mobilisation of the Geoquip Seehorn vessel to the Anning and Somerville field locations is expected to occur during July 2023.
  • In-situ geotechnical investigation and laboratory testing of seabed samples taken from selected preferred platform and Jack-up Drilling Rig locations at the Anning and Somerville sites will be conducted.
  • The results of the geotechnical survey will form a critical component of the Environmental Statement and an understanding of the seabed conditions at the Anning and Somerville platform and jack-up drilling rig locations.

Hartshead Resources NL (Hartshead, HHR or the Company) is pleased to announce that the Company has awarded a contract for a Geotechnical Survey across the Anning and Somerville fields and pipeline locations to Geoquip Marine Operations (Geoquip), following a competitive tender for technical and commercial bid evaluation.

It is expected that the Geoquip Seehorn (Figure 1), an 83 metre Class 2 Dynamic Positioning (DP2) Integrated Geotechnical Survey Vessel, with specialist deep seabed testing as well as borehole drilling, testing and sampling capability, will be used for the work program. The Seehorn will be mobilised to the Anning and Somerville field locations in July 2023.

The main objectives of the geotechnical survey are to provide the Company with confirmation of the seabed and sub seabed soil conditions to finalize the design and the efficient installation of the offshore facilities and to ensure the safe location of the jack-up drilling rig at the Anning and Somerville locations.

The survey will consist of the following components: One 50m borehole at the jacket centres and one 30m (approx.) borehole at each jack-up location leg centroid. Boreholes will be advanced with a combination of samples and CPTs;

ONSHORE / OFFSHORE LABORATORY TESTING which shall be performed in accordance with internationalstandards and procedures (i.e. ISO, ASTM, BSI, NS, ISRM, or equivalent)

Chris Lewis, Hartshead CEO, commented “The Phase I development is progressing exceptionally well, with work across platforms, pipelines, wells and offtake moving forward. These are all positive steps along the road to first gas. I look forward to submission of our Field Development Plan shortly and Environmental Statement later this year. I would like to again thank the Hartshead team for all their work moving our development forward and our Joint Venture partner, RockRose, for their support.”
