Hort Innovation, Australia’s horticulture research and development corporation, has demonstrated its continued support for Hort Connections by returning as Principal Convention Partner.
Hort Connections 2023 will explore the theme of Knowledge for Growth to ensure the industry is primed to take advantage of the next generation of research, technology and business innovation to grow the production and value of the horticulture industry.
Hort Innovation is the grower-owned, not-for-profit research and development corporation for the Australian horticulture industry. It invests over $120 million annually in research and development, marketing and trade programs on behalf of industry to improve the productivity, profitability and global competitiveness of fruit, vegetable and nut sectors, as well as transformational investments that benefit the broader Australian horticulture industry as a whole.
According to AUSVEG CEO Michael Coote, having Hort Innovation re-sign as the Principal Convention Partner will provide further opportunities for it to showcase the wide-ranging research and development that it invests to a wider number of industry members.
“Hort Innovation plays an important role in the horticulture sector through the investment in research, development and marketing programs that benefit Australia’s fresh produce growers,” said Mr Coote.
“Having Hort Innovation on board as the Principal Convention Partner allows the event to feature the latest research and innovation for growers as we explore the theme of Knowledge for Growth.”
Hort Innovation CEO Brett Fifield said Hort Connections provides a unique opportunity to display the outcomes of the research, development and marketing it invests on behalf of growers.
“Hort Connections attracts a large number of growers from across the Australian horticulture industry, making it a key platform to engage with the broader horticulture industry to display the latest outcomes from our investments in R&D and marketing,” said Mr Fifield.
“We look forward to working with AUSVEG, the International Fresh Produce Association of Australia and New Zealand and the many industry partners involved in brining the conference together to bring the next generation of industry-funded R&D to growers and the wider industry.”
“We are also proud to continue supporting Hort Connections in celebrating the leading exporters in the Australian horticulture industry through our sponsorship of the Exporter of the Year Award.”
