Muslim Youth Raise Over $8,000 for Adelaide’s Homeless

Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Australia < 1 min read

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth South Australia has raised over $8,000 with its Charity Walk on Sunday 18th June for Adelaide's Homeless.

Ata-ul-Hadi, President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth, speaking to The Wire, said:

“Particularly with winter on us currently, homelessness is a significant challenge for us in Adelaide and also throughout Australia. We see that many people are forced to go without a shelter over their head or a warm meal. We are aiming to address one aspect of this this through providing warm meals to the homeless around Adelaide. We freshly prepare the food in our kitchen, pack it into boxes and deliver it straight to those who are in need. The food is warm and accompanied by other small items of necessity.”

Imam Kamran Tahir, speaking to ABC Radio Adelaide, said:

“Humanity First Australia is a non-for-profit charity and does not have any administration costs, hence 100% of donations will be going solely to those in need.”
