TVSN CEO, Judy Deuchar joins Vinnies CEO Sleepout.

TVSN 2 mins read

22 June 2023: Judy Deuchar, CEO of Australia’s favourite shopping channel will again participate in Vinnies CEO Sleepout for the 5th consecutive year.

This annual event, held outdoors on one of the longest and coldest nights of the year takes place in the White Bay Cruise Terminal from 5pm on 22nd to 9am on the 23rd June and aims to raise funds and awareness for homelessness.

Judy's goal is to surpass last year's fundraising efforts and reach a total target of over $100,000.00 since first participating in Vinnies CEO Sleepout.

“Having been part of this initiative for several years, we understand the significant impact we can all make, regardless of the size of our business. We all share a responsibility to drive social change and make a difference where it is most needed,” says Judy.

Even the smallest contribution can have a profound effect. With over 100,000 people experiencing homelessness every night, the need for organisations like Vinnies has never been greater.

“We urge you to donate or even join us in experiencing what has become an unfortunate reality for many fellow Australians, even if it's just for one night.”

Donations over $2 are tax deductible, and with the end of the financial year approaching on 30th June, this is an ideal time for you to make a difference too.

“We genuinely appreciate your valued support, and together, we can make a positive impact in the lives of those affected by homelessness. Remember, one night may not seem like much, but it has the potential to make a whole lot of difference,” Judy concludes.

Dr Barry Kirby AO at Lions Australia National Convention in Darwin

24 May 2024: In PNG, an estimated 700 women per 100,000 live births die during childbirth, compared to just four or five per 100,000 in Australia. Dr Barry Kirby AO, a former carpenter turned medical doctor, is a transformative force in reducing maternal mortality rates in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Lions Australia is a key supporter of the PNG Birthing Mothers Project and provides “baby bundles” encouraging antenatal care and “bush huts” near medical centres for expectant mothers. The Project has led to an 80% increase in supervised deliveries and a 75% reduction in maternal deaths. Lions Clubs promote youth…
