Australian Professional Leagues appoint KordaMentha as Receivers for the Perth Glory Football Club

KordaMentha 2 mins read

KordaMentha partners Andrew Knight, John Bumbak and Sebastian Hams have today been appointed Receivers and Managers of certain assets of Okewood Pty Ltd, which includes the Perth Glory Football Club licence and associated assets.

KordaMentha was appointed by the Australian Professional Leagues to facilitate a sale process and orderly transition of the Perth Glory Football Club to a new owner and have been given immediate control of the Perth Glory Football Club’s operations.

The Perth Glory Football Club is an Australian professional football club based in Perth, Western Australia, that competes in the A-Leagues.  Founded in 1995, it is one of three current A-Leagues teams to have transitioned into the A-League Men in 2005. They went on to win the 2019 Premiership and compete in two Grand Finals in 2012 and 2019. Glory’s A-League Women’s team was created in 2005 and won their first Premiership in 2014, and played in three Grand Finals in 2014, 2017 and 2019.

KordaMentha’s Andrew Knight said “an orderly sale process for the Perth Glory Football Club would commence immediately. While this process is being undertaken, the Receivers and Managers will continue to operate the Club in a ‘business as usual’ manner as the teams continue their pre-season preparations.”

The Receivers and Managers are working with the Australian Professional Leagues, the governing body for the A-Leagues (A-League Men and A-League Women), who is supporting the business during this transition period.
