CarExpert 2 mins read

CarExpert.com.au has announced the appointment of Tania Hillman as the new Chief Financial Officer as the company sets itself for the next stage of growth, leading towards an Initial Public Offering (IPO) and international expansion.

Ms Hillman has led the finance function at Go1 since 2019, from a small start-up through to ‘unicorn’ status, through multiple acquisitions, launching into multiple countries, and successfully managing multi-million-dollar capital raises which resulted in the business to flourish, growing a staggering 20 times in size during that period.

Ms Hillman, said, “I’m excited to be joining CarExpert.com.au as the business sets itself for the next stage of growth. I’ve been through this scale-up phase successfully before and I’m motivated to grow what is a truly differentiated offering to new car buyers in an online automotive market that seems to have become stale. CarExpert is a breath of fresh air and I’m looking forward to unlocking the enormous potential of the business.”

Prior to Go1, Ms Hillman had a successful career in banking and finance with RACQ Bank, QT Mutual Bank Limited and First Mac Limited and with Global publishing company, John Wiley & Sons Limited.

“We are very excited to secure a CFO of Tania’s capability and experience. When commencing our search, our ideal candidate was someone who had led the financial function of a technology business through massive growth and international expansion. Tania is the perfect fit”, said Damon Rielly, CEO.

“The capability and experience, having successfully tread the path before will be incredible. Tania brings with her skills that will be critical to achieving our ambitious growth plans both here in Australia and internationally.”

Mr Rielly continued, “Tania is replacing long term CarAdvice and CarExpert CFO, Matt Chandler who departs in August to take up a real passion project in a new CFO opportunity. I’ve greatly enjoyed working with Matt, he has been amazing and certainly goes with our blessing and well wishes and will continue to be a supportive shareholder.

Co-Founder, Alborz Fallah said, “Every time we have the opportunity to hire someone new into the business, we are searching for the very best. Someone who possesses the skills and capability that can continue our dynamic growth and enable us to achieve our significant aspirations. Tania is that person and I’m excited to welcome her to the team.”

Ms Hillman will commence with CarExpert on 11 September and will be based in the Brisbane office together with CEO, Damon Rielly and Co-Founder, Alborz Fallah.

RFNSW welcomes Budget investment in fuel resilience, freight and roads

Road Freight NSW (RFNSW) has welcomed key fuel security, freight resilience and transport infrastructure measures included in last night’s Federal Budget, saying the announcements recognise the critical role road freight operators play in keeping Australia moving during increasingly uncertain global conditions. RFNSW Chief Executive Officer Simon O’Hara said continued investment in fuel security, freight resilience and major road infrastructure was essential for the NSW freight industry and broader economy. “Road freight keeps supermarket shelves stocked, businesses operating and regional communities connected, so investment in fuel resilience and transport infrastructure is critical,” Mr O’Hara said.
