CarExpert video audience continues to grow as broadcast TV becomes its next horizon

CarExpert 2 mins read

CarExpert, which recently celebrated its third birthday, has published its video audience figures for the first time, revealing its total audience was more than double (2.2x) its nearest competitor over FY23 (Jul 2022 – Jun 2023).

The announcement comes as CarExpert embarks on a trial to extend its video content into primetime TV, partnering with top-rating lifestyle program Better Homes & Gardens to produce a series of automotive segments which will air in premium Friday night slots until the end of 2023.

“To be garnering more than double the number of views of competitors within such a short time frame is an amazing achievement. It is true testament to our team’s dedication to producing the highest-quality, independent and most-thorough automotive video content”, says Paul Maric, lead presenter.

“Beyond YouTube, our first two pilots with Better Homes & Gardens have also proven winners, adding more than 1.3m viewers to our collective audience. This is particularly exciting given the new financial year will see more episodes of the program feature CarExpert content, promising continued growth.”

It’s clear that Australian viewers echo these thoughts, with consumers consistently watching more than 330,000 hours of footage on CarExpert’s YouTube channel every month via an average of over 3m monthly views so far in 2023. The brand now boasts more video subscribers than any comparable Australian entity and finishes the Financial Year with a particularly strong H2 where it received 2.7x more total video views from Jan-Jun than its nearest competitor.

“For twelve months out of twelve, we have sat atop the charts and – where others have stagnated – we’ve continued to grow at a fast rate, delivering record audience to round out the financial year in June”, says Maric. “It’s clear that we are now the dominant voice when it comes to new car advice and we’re looking forward to more growth in the coming year.
