Hartshead Resources (ASX:HHR) – PLATFORM SEABED GEOTECHNICAL SURVEY COMPLETION: ANNING & SOMERVILLE FIELDS

Hartshead Resources NL (ASX:HHR) 2 mins read

Hartshead Resources NL (Hartshead or HHR), in partnership with RockRose (UKCS2) Limited (RockRose), is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Geotechnical Survey across the Anning and Somerville fields platform and pipeline locations. The accomplishment was made possible through the involvement of Geoquip Marine Operations (Geoquip Marine).

The Platform Geotechnical Survey covering the Anning and Somerville field developments was completed with all objectives achieved. The Geoquip Seehorn vessel, without any accidents or incidents, successfully performed the survey of the Anning and Somerville fields.

The forthcoming stage involves a detailed analysis of the results from the geotechnical survey. This analysis will provide an in-depth understanding of the seabed conditions at the Anning and Somerville platform and jack-up drilling rig locations. The initial results are promising, suggesting that both locations are suitable for platform installation and the drilling rig work programme.

The survey achieved its goals, with a total of four rock cores recovered, including one 30 metre core and one 50 metre core from each location. These cores will provide essential soils information needed for the engineering design of the platform anchor points and to determine the requirements for the placement of the jack-up drilling rig over the platforms for the well operations.

The material recovered during the survey will be subjected to laboratory analysis in accordance with international standards and procedures. The results are expected to be available within the current quarter, and the initial review of the data indicates that both locations are suitable for platform and drilling rig operations.

Despite unseasonably rough sea conditions, the Geoquip Seehorn, an 83 metre Class 2 Dynamic Positioning (DP2) Multi-Disciplined Offshore Survey Vessel, completed the operations smoothly. The entire survey process was successfully completed in under 12 days.

The successful completion of this Geotechnical Survey is a major step forward for the development of the Anning and Somerville fields. Hartshead Resources NL, along with its partner RockRose, eagerly anticipates progressing to the next phase of the project.
