tide.pr 3 mins read

Following the overwhelming success of their debut collaboration in 2021, Melbourne-based social enterprise, HoMie, and global storyteller, Disney, are teaming up once again. This time, for the release their first upcycled streetwear collection that looks, does and feels good – REBORN by HoMie and Disney.

The highly anticipated capsule collection will be released on International Friendship Day (Sunday 30 July) with 100% of profits going towards HoMie’s mission of helping young people affected by homelessness or hardship.

Built on shared values and commitment to repurpose leftover products, the limited-edition range comprises of 100 one-of-a-kind garments and marks the first time in Australia that another apparel label has upcycled Disney materials.

Each item in the offering was meticulously handcrafted at HoMie’s Melbourne studio, splicing together pre-loved items and excess stock from both brands to create an eclectic mix of one-off pieces.

From patchwork hoodies to matching tee sets, perfect for sharing with a bestie, the genderless collection celebrates the magic of friendship and bears the unmistakable charm of Disney’s beloved Sensational Six: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck. Through decades of countless adventures and timeless memories, the Sensational Six have always stayed true to each other and celebrated their own unique friendship styles.

The capsule collection invites fashion fans and Disney devotees to honour the fruitful connections in their own lives while supporting a community initiative that builds brighter futures for vulnerable young people. By purchasing and wearing items from the range, customers are actively supporting HoMie's mission of fostering positive change within the community.

"We’re stoked to join forces with Disney once again and release our first upcycled collaboration collection on International Friendship Day. The response from our first HoMie and Friends range in 2021 was incredible and we can’t wait to share this new drop with the HoMie community and Disney fans,” said Marcus Crook, Co-Founder and Creative Director of HoMie.

“This range sits very close to our hearts as it was handmade by one of our amazing alumni. It embodies our key values of creativity, sustainability, and social impact, and celebrates the power of authentic connections, like our brand friendship with Disney. By rocking a tee or a hoodie, wearers can make a tangible difference to their community – all while looking good too! Proceeds from all 100 items will enable us to continue to make a positive difference in the lives of young people and our planet," Crook added.

The REBORN by HoMie and Disney collection will be available via homie.com.au from 9am, Sunday 30 July and in HoMie’s Melbourne store from 10am, Monday 31 July.
