RETURN AND EARN EXPRESS NOW OPEN IN HABERFIELD

Exchange for Change 2 mins read

Haberfield locals have a new location to recycle their eligible bottles and cans and redeem the 10c refund with the opening of Return and Earn Express on Ramsay Street.

“Inner West Council residents are already enthusiastic recyclers, having returned more than 170 million containers for recycling through local return points since Return and Earn launched in December 2017,” said James Dorney, CEO TOMRA Cleanaway, network operator.

“This new shopfront style return point features three Return and Earn machines in an indoor setting, making it easy to recycle containers all year round, whatever the weather,” he added.

Return and Earn Express Haberfield is the 12th return point in the Inner West which means it’s never been more convenient to recycle your bottles and cans, all while being rewarded for your effortssaid Mr Dorney.

Users of Return and Earn Express Haberfield can print a voucher for the refund amount, redeemable for cash at Woolworths, or they can opt for an e-voucher or payment into their bank account or PayPal by downloading the Return and Earn app. They can also choose to donate their refund to one of the charity partners listed.

“Return and Earn has become a key fundraising channel for community groups, schools and charities across NSW. Since launching five years ago, more than $42 million has been raised for charities and community groups via donations and fees from hosting return points,” said Danielle Smalley, CEO Exchange for Change, scheme coordinator.

Brothers in Need is the current local donation partner listed on the Haberfield machines. All funds raised through Return and Earn will support their work with vulnerable people including programs to support homelessness, hunger, poverty, people living with disabilities, and well-being

Local recyclers can also donate their refunds to the latest state-wide Return and Earn donation appeal in support of Youth Off The Streets and their work providing crisis support, education, housing and employment services for vulnerable young Australians.

To date more than 9.4 billion containers have been returned for recycling through the network of over 600 return points across NSW.

“By using this return point, in combination with your household recycling, we can all do our bit to reduce litter and landfill, and contribute to a more sustainable future,” said Ms Smalley.

Return and Earn Express Haberfield is located at 115 Ramsay Street, Haberfield and is open from 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturday (closed on Sundays).
