Beyond Self-Care: Why Reaching Out for Help Amplifies Your Healing Journey

Ann Noler Harris 4 mins read

As an energy healer, I have witnessed the transformative power of acknowledging and addressing our pain. It is through this process that we can step into our authentic selves and embrace a life of joy and fulfilment. Suffering is a universal experience that touches each of us at some point in our lives. Whether it is physical, emotional, or spiritual pain, we often find ourselves silently carrying the weight of our struggles. However, there is a profound shift when we choose to acknowledge our pain, reach out for support and seek healing.

Energy healing wasn't my thing, ever. I was as sceptical as they come until a beautiful soul called Ella entered my life. Fostering a retired service dog dying of cancer was my small way of giving back to the world. Nothing more could be done for Ella, but something in me wanted to try anyway. With the medical options exhausted, I began to learn energy healing, and the last few days Ella had with us turned into a happy & healthy, 51/2 years. Beyond my logical reasoning or scientific explanation, my efforts paid off, and trying out my gift on my husband and many others confirmed the results. I've now done years of training, I qualified as a Reiki Master, Medical Intuitive, and Advanced Metaphysical Anatomy Practitioner and a certified coach.

While our brains are wired for connection, the fear of being a burden, being disbelieved, or even ridiculed can prevent us from reaching out and connecting with people when we need it most. While a healer might ease the pain and allow healing to take place, there's an emotional role a healer plays too. Having someone from the outside step in enables that process of connecting with others and asking for help to begin. Healing is not a passive process, it is an active journey of self-empowerment. I have seen how energy healing provides us with tools and techniques to navigate our inner landscape, allowing us to take charge of our healing and well-being.

Reaching out for help and support when pain flares up can be hard. For people with chronic pain, reaching out when help is needed might be periodic and ongoing, making it even harder to feel. We are validated in asking for it. It is easy to start feeling like a burden on others, and the temptation to suck it up and keep it private takes hold. Keeping our pain hidden in the depths of our being can be detrimental to our well-being. Speaking up about our struggles allows us to connect with others who may have similar experiences. It is through sharing our stories that we find solace, support, and understanding. Reaching out might look like this:

  • Asking for help with taking kids to school
  • Moving a meeting to a later time
  • Allowing someone to help you prepare a meal
  • Organising a babysitter, or asking family or friends to take the kids out for an afternoon
  • Asking a neighbour to collect and deliver medication for you

Energy healing offers us the opportunity to move past pain, physical and emotional. Through various techniques like energy clearing and emotional release, we can let go of the burdens that no longer serve us.

Energy healing encompasses a wide range of modalities, each with its unique approach and benefits. From Reiki to acupuncture, crystal healing to sound therapy, there are numerous paths to explore on our healing journey. Finding the modality that resonates with us can be a deeply transformative experience.
