Queensland Father & Son Polar Explorers Depart Southport Sunday 9am for South Pole and North Pole

Who: Queensland father and son adventure duo, polar explorer Dr Geoff Wilson and his 22-year-old son Kitale (Kit) Wilson and the Project Zero crew (1st mate Alistair “Crusty” Burton and sailor/drone pilot Jordy Pearson).

 

What: Farewell Breakfast – Family, Friends & Supporters

 

When: Sunday, August 13, 2023 at 7am breakfast for a 9am boat departure

 

7am guest arrival

7.15 - 7.45am: Welcome by Dr Wilson; presentation of outdoor jackets to crew

8am - 8.30am: media one-on-ones

8.45am: media load on to media boat to travel alongside Nanook X 

9.00am: Nanook X departs; Project Zero begins

 

Location: Southport Yacht Club, 1 Macarthur Parade, Main Beach, Queensland.

 

Why: Say “good luck” to the Project Zero crew on board Nanook X as they leave Australian shores for the first leg of the expedition. Destination: Patagonia. Followed by South Pole and North Pole.

 

How: Crews/reporters will have access to a media boat that will travel alongside Nanook X as it leaves Australian shores.
