Andrew Cochineas of Pallion Group Announces Upcoming 2023 Sustainability Report

Pallion Group 2 mins read

The Pallion Group approach to sustainability, environmental respect and corporate responsibility goes far deeper than a pro-forma release of an ESC statement in response to market expectations. CEO Andrew Cochineas is keen to point out that the 2023 report will build on previous editions while covering the latest developments in this space across the group.

The 2023 edition of the Pallion Group sustainability report – known as the Considerate® Precious Metals Annual Report – is due to be published later this year. This fourth edition builds on previous years’ efforts, tracking the Pallion Group approach to human rights, responsible business practices as well as the environment.

Key takeouts from the 2022 report were:

The introduction of new policies and reviewed standards – overseen by the group Governance and Sustainability Committee (GSC), including deeper collaboration and new initiatives with internal and external stakeholder groups.

Developments in supply chain provenance – to ensure traceability and integrity through the entire life of its products.

Risk management framework refinement – from a law enforcement perspective, as well as suppliers and human rights.

Focus on local connection and contribution – as the majority of Pallion Group’s production facilities are spread around Marrickville, a mixed urban-industrial suburb just 15 minutes from the centre of Sydney.

Technological innovation and production advancements – that not only improve output, but improve workplace safety while also helping to reduce the environmental footprint.

Community engagement activities – including mentoring, awards and scholarships as well as charitable contributions.

“What we’re most proud of is the continued growth across the group in all key areas of corporate responsibility, and the report simply recognises the work that’s being done.”

Andrew Cochineas, Pallion Group CEO

The 2023 report will build on previous years’ themes while taking into account new initiatives, as the group continues to be guided by their Considerate Precious Metals ethos through a significant period of growth.

NEW INTERNSHIP TO SUPPORT EMERGING WOMEN AND GENDER DIVERSE CONSERVATIONISTS

Bush Heritage Australia and Trust for Nature have announced a collaborative internship designed to open new pathways for women and gender diverse early career conservationists. Women remain underrepresented across many STEM fields in Australia. In 2024 the proportion of women in STEM-qualified occupations had plateaued at 15 percent. While environmental science performs much better than the broader STEM sector in gender representation, equity has not yet been consistently achieved or sustained. The Bush Heritage and Trust for Nature Conservation Internship aims to directly address this gap by providing practical experience, professional networks and clearer entry points into conservation careers. Greenpeace welcomes WA Government’s starting plan for renewable energy projects to pay their way, but the real costs should be borne by oil and gas industry

SYDNEY, Thursday 5 March 2026 — The WA Government has released their Community Benefit Guidelines outlining the expectations on renewable energy companies paying their fair share to local communities hosting wind turbines and solar panels.Big gas corporations like Chevron and Woodside recently announced annual profits in the billions, while the WA Government is expected to receive only $365 million in total royalties for the 2025-'26 financial year. That amounts to only 0.7 per cent of WA’s revenue with further declines expected. Most oil and gas operations are currently not required to pay any royalties at all to WA. Geoff Bice, WA…
