Dementia Action Week starts Monday 18 September ‘Act Now for a Dementia-Friendly Future’

WHAT: Dementia Action Week 2023 is from Monday 18 September to Sunday 24 September, which includes World Alzheimer’s Day on Thursday 21 September. 

THEME: This year’s theme is ‘Act Now for a Dementia-Friendly Future’. Communities that take action to become more dementia-friendly have less fear and a greater understanding of dementia, as well as less stigma and discrimination of people living with dementia. 

CALL TO ACTION: Find out more information and download toolkits to help businesses, organisations and local governments become more dementia-friendly https://www.dementia.org.au/dementia-action-week  

SPOKESPEOPLE: Interviews are available with Dementia Australia representatives, Dementia Advocates, who are people with a living experience of dementia and Dementia Australia Honorary Medical Advisors. Images and video footage are also available on request.

 

Dementia Australia is the source of trusted information, education and services for the estimated more than 400,000 Australians living with dementia, and the more than 1.5 million people involved in their care. We advocate for positive change and support vital research. We are here to support people impacted by dementia, and to enable them to live as well as possible. No matter how you are impacted by dementia or who you are, we are here for you.
