Intra Energy Corporation (ASX:IEC) Appoints Principal Geologist to Advance Yalgarra Project

Intra Energy Corporation Limited (ASX:IEC) 2 mins read

Intra Energy Corporation Limited (ASX:IEC) (“IEC” or the “Company”) is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Todd Hibberd to the role of Principal Geologist. Mr. Hibberd will be spearheading the advancement of the Yalgarra magmatic Ni-Cu-PGE Project (“Yalgarra,” “Project”), located 70km east of Kalbarri in Western Australia.

Mr. Hibberd brings with him an extensive background in the minerals industry, boasting decades of experience in exploration, development, and production roles across a diverse range of commodities. His expertise spans gold, copper-gold, nickel, base metals, and lithium.

Notable Achievements

He has been instrumental in the discovery of significant mineral deposits, including the +800,000-ounce gold equivalent Chanach copper-gold porphyry deposit in the Kyrgyz Republic and the 2 million tonne Mandiodo Nickel deposit in Indonesia. Additionally, Mr. Hibberd has been responsible for the development and mining of 500,000-ounce gold deposits in Western Australia. Over the years, he has held various senior positions with large, mid-tier, and junior sector resource companies both within Australia and internationally.

The Road Ahead for Yalgarra Project

With Mr. Hibberd’s appointment, IEC is poised to accelerate exploration activities at the Yalgarra Project. Recent exploration has identified several promising magmatic nickel-copper sulphide targets through a combination of geochemistry and geophysics. An initial desktop review of the completed work is currently underway. On-ground exploration is scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2023, focusing on ground truthing the key nickel-copper targets and investigating the extent of the recent anomalous lithium results in the Northern block.

IEC Managing Director, Benjamin Dunn, commented: “Todd’s appointment represents the next step in our strategic plan for the Company. We have recently appointed Dahrougue Geological Consultants to manage the exploration on the Llama Lithium Projects in Canada and with Todd’s appointment, we now have a highly experienced in-house geologist which strengthens our team as we move towards advancing our exploration programs in Australia and Canada.”
