Mont Royal Resources (ASX:MRZ): Lithium Exploration Update – Eastmain Leran

Mont Royal Resources (ASX:MRZ) 2 mins read

Mont Royal Resources Limited (ASX:MRZ), a leading exploration company, is excited to announce the initial exploration findings from its first phase Lithium exploration program at the Eastmain Léran Project situated in the Upper Eastmain Greenstone Belt, Quebec, Canada.

Key Highlights:

  • Outstanding Lithium Content: Initial grab samples from the Eastmain Léran indicate an impressive content of up to 2.41% Li2O from a spodumene-rich boulder.

  • New Focus Area Identified: A 2.5km trend towards the northeast of Eastmain Léran has now emerged as a primary exploration focus. The Company has planned a comprehensive sampling program that will encompass larger representative samples.

  • Pending Sample Analyses: Sixty-two samples are currently awaiting results at the Actlabs facility in Val d’or, Quebec.

  • Potential Tantalum Source: A recent data review of Heavy Mineral has spotlighted a new 8km-long region presenting a high incidence of Tantalum (Ta), typically associated with LCT pegmatites.

  • Expanded Exploration Measures: Mont Royal is geared up to begin its second-phase program without delay. The program will include trenching, gravimetry surveys, LIDAR, and heightened detailed prospection aimed at augmenting the scope of both the Eastmain Léran and the Bohier discovery zones.

  • Potential Drilling Program: Depending on further results and analyses, the company is mulling over a maiden Lithium drilling initiative targeted for November 2023.

Mont Royal continues its dedicated exploration endeavors at the Bohier and Eastmain Léran projects. The ongoing prospection program, encompassing trenching, as well as grab and channel sampling, aims to categorize and prioritize drill-ready targets for the forthcoming Autumn/fall exploration season. Preliminary results underwent an express analysis, and 62 samples placed at the Actlabs facility remain to be examined.

Mont Royal Executive Director, Peter Ruse, commented: “Mont Royal is pleased to report results confirming the discovery of a new spodumene-rich boulder field 1km north-west of the MRNFQ 2016 database showing. The focus of the next phase of work will be to carry out detailed prospection on a 2.5km northwest trend that is located near the contact of the granite and greenstone belt on the Eastmain Léran property. Identifying the LCT pegmatite source of the boulder field is now the key priority of Mont Royal’s technical team. Furthermore, a tantalum rich zone has been identified in the central part of the Eastmain Léran property that will be subject to a new LIDAR survey and fieldwork teams prospecting throughout the second phase work program. The work program is due to commence imminently."
