NO to Gervay's son bullied. YES to Gervay joining SCOUTS in their FIRST Anti-Bullying Program to 1600 kids at Scouts Cuboree Sept 29-3rd Oct

FIRST TIME anti-bullying focus by SCOUTS. It begins with1600 girls and boys at Cub Scouts Cuboree 29 Sept- 3rd October a 5 day camp at Appin NSW. 

Adventures with hikes, bush craft, ropes, canoeing, obstacle courses, rock climbing that:-

  1. Empower to new levels of achievement and develop strength, trust, teamwork through adventure
  2. Facilitate friendship, excitement and learning
  3. FIRST TIME foster leadership in ANTI-BULLYING.

As one of the leading non-formal educational movement in the world, SCOUTS understands their unique position to delver this anti-bullying program.

Scouts NSW Youth Protection Team created an anti-bullying package to help youth members recognise the five areas of bullying - physical, verbal, relational, group and cyber. This will be presented for the FIRST time to an audience at Cuboree. It was developed in response to the increasing number of children experiencing bullying within their communities. Scouts NSW Executive Manager Renee Jensen said. 'These workshops will give them an opportunity for self-reflection.'

SUSANNE GERVAY OAM

Susanne Gervay OAM educational consultant and author, has been awarded the Social Justice Literature Award by International Literacy Association for her body of work. She is a strong advocate against bullying in all her books. In particular, her 'I AM JACK' books tackle the issue of human rights. As a child of refugees, human rights is the core to justice.
