AECOM appoints four industry directors and promotes more than 550 across Australia and New Zealand

BRISBANE (October 24, 2023) — AECOM, the world’s trusted infrastructure consulting firm, has appointed four industry directors, 125 new directors, and promoted over 450 team members. Industry directors are the most senior technical professionals at AECOM, highly sought after and responsible for delivering the most technically complex and challenging client assignments.

George Mavroyeni has been appointed industry director – industry verification in Melbourne.

George leads the independent review of major projects for compliance with the client’s design and construction requirements. With 45 years of experience, George is a leader in major projects, road safety and quality assurance, and in 2021, he was awarded the Austroads Ray Fisher Award for Technical Excellence.

 

Geoff Charlesworth has been appointed industry director – ground engineering and tunnelling in Brisbane.

Geoff is a mining and civil engineer with 38 years of experience in designing resource and infrastructure projects across the world. He is now focused on technical leadership of AECOM’s tunnelling practice in Australia and New Zealand and delivering major underground projects as part of AECOM’s Global Design Team.

 

Sean Gilchrist has been appointed industry director – water in Sydney.

Sean is helping implement AECOM’s water business strategy, growing its treatment business, and delivering major water projects across Australia and New Zealand. With 38 years of experience, Sean brings a wealth of experience and insight to today’s water challenges and continues to leverage AECOM’s global expertise into local projects.

 

Shane Doran has been appointed industry director – transportation in Brisbane.

Shane specialises in major transport infrastructure planning, design, and delivery. With 42 years of experience in government and private sectors, Shane is now helping plan major public transport projects that meet the pressing need for sustainable transport solutions and support the growth of cities and communities.
