SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA - 25 October 2023 - Gritty drama "Get Free" based on real life Australian incidents of human slavery, arrives in Australian theatres from November 2 with a series of national Q&A screenings aiming to raise awareness and discussion.

Filmed across NSW's Central Coast region, "Get Free" features an ensemble cast including Shane Emmett ("Nine Perfect Strangers", "Total Control", "Mankind is no Island")  Kaitlyn Boye, Ana Thu Nguyen ("The Spy Who Never Dies" and "Suka"), Shane Emmett  and Kelly McRae bringing the real-life stories to life on the screen.

Director Dr. Daniel Widdowson, an Australian of the Year finalist, has brought this powerful narrative to the screen alongside Producer and writer Craig Giles and co-producers Amanda Giles and Tina Wake.

"Get Free" is a mirror held up to society, revealing the shadows of human trafficking in Australia that most Australians are unaware of" says Craig Giles. "It's an urgent message and an opportunity to spark change."

"The production of this film was a personal odyssey that very nearly didn't happen" says Co-producer Amanda Giles. "We knew that we needed to persevere however as the story highlights an issue that so many Australian women and children deal with. We are so passionate about this issue and the need for it to be discussed"

A series of special event screenings with Q&A sessions featuring the film's creators, cast, and experts will provide audiences with an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations and gain deeper insights into the film's creation and the stories behind it.
