SWAROVSKI’S HOLIDAY CAMPAIGN BY STEVEN MEISEL CELEBRATES WONDER OF THE SEASON

Swarovski 3 mins read

Swarovski today unveils its holiday campaign for 2023, lensed by Steven Meisel, conceived by Creative Director Giovanna Engelbert, and brought to life by makeup artist Dame Pat McGrath.

Entitled Celebrate Wonder, the campaign is a journey into the infinite creative promise of Swarovski crystal, brought to life in a series of unique portraits by Meisel.

Five distinct personalities celebrate the wonder of the festive season, each inspired by Swarovski’s iconic jewellery collections: Blue Gema, whose blue and clear crystals shine with a dreamy light; Mesmera Stardust, who shines in hypnotic designs made for after dark; tough and edgy Matrix Supernova, who glows with the magnetic beauty of clear crystals; Punk Luna, who lights up the night, channeling a mystical energy with moon-inspired motifs; and Hyperbola Nebula, whose green crystals vibrate energy through their interwoven strands.

In this new chapter in the evolving Crystal Metamorphosis story, the characters are ignited by the magic of the festive season, transforming into shimmering jewellery pieces that exemplify Swarovski’s joyful extravagance, savoir-faire and mastery of light.

Swarovski's Creative Director Giovanna Engelbert commented: “Our holiday campaign is a celebration of the infinite possibility of self-expression and creativity in the way that only Swarovski can bring. My vision centered around the idea of women, all with distinct looks and personalities, transforming into the jewellery pieces they are wearing. Together with Steven Meisel and Pat McGrath, we have created magic in a series of images that capture the festive glamour and wonder of the holiday season.”

Giovanna Engelbert once again collaborated with the dream team of Meisel, creator of some of the most iconic images in fashion, and McGrath, renowned for make-up techniques that push the boundaries of self-expression, to highlight the transformative power of Swarovski crystals. They were joined by hairstylist Guido Palau and milliner Stephen Jones, who created the extraordinary crystal headpiece worn by Hyperbola.

The Celebrate Wonder campaign stands for empowerment, self-expression, experimentation, and a bold return to unrestrained glamour - perfect to inspire a magical holiday season of shining gifts.

The full Swarovski collection is now available in-store and online at swarovski.com.
