ASX-listed advice network operator WT Financial Group Limited (“WTL”, “the Company” or “the Group”) today announces the appointment one of Australia’s most popular and recognised keynote speakers and corporate wellbeing presenters, and the author of The Mindful High Performer, Mrs Chelsea Pottenger as a Non-Executive Director, with effect from the Company’s upcoming annual general meeting on 26 November 2023.
Mrs Pottenger is the founder of EQ MINDS, a leading corporate performance and wellbeing coaching educational platform that works with some of the world’s leading brands to train thousands of executives and staff each year across many industries including financial services.
Prior to founding EQ MINDS in 2016, Mrs Pottenger worked for 13 years as an executive and senior product specialist with leading global healthcare and medical device companies, including Johnson and Johnson. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from the University of Wollongong and is studying psychology at the University of Adelaide. She is also an ambassador for suicide prevention organisation R U OK; and for The Gidget Foundation, which supports the emotional wellbeing of expectant and new parents.
WTL said that Mrs Pottenger will replace current non-executive director, Mr Michael Harrison who has signalled his intention to retire from his duties with WTL to focus on external commercial interests.
Commenting on the appointment, WTL managing director, Keith Cullen, said:
“We’re so excited that Chelsea has accepted our offer to join the WTL board. She brings an entrepreneurial flare and terrific track record of success that we know will add value. That she has not previously worked directly in financial services is a key benefit as we continue to pursue fresh ideas on our journey to redefine paradigms in our profession and re-imagine the relationship between advice practices and their licensee.
That said, Chelsea is well known to many in financial services - and the corporate world more generally, through her extensive work with leading brands as a keynote speaker and performance and wellbeing coach.”
Mrs Pottenger commented on the appointment, saying:
“I’m thrilled to be joining the Board of WTL and excited by the opportunities ahead. I am looking forward bringing fresh perspectives and collaborating with a dedicated team, ensuring WTL remains at the forefront of the dynamic financial landscape to deliver favourable results for the Company and for the advice practices it supports.”
Mr Cullen concluded:
“A special thanks goes out to Michael Harrison for his contributions since joining WTL when we acquired Sentry back in 2021. Michael has added a wealth of knowledge of advice practice management along with deep experience in mergers and acquisitions during his tenure and we wish him continued success in his external business and personal endeavours that he is focussed on”.
