Arizona Lithium Limited (ASX: AZL) – Lithium Drilling Approval at Prairie

Arizona Lithium Limited (ASX: AZL) - 2 mins read

Arizona Lithium Limited (ASX: AZL, AZLOA, AZLO OTC: AZLAF) ("Arizona Lithium" or "the Company"), a leader in sustainable lithium development, is excited to announce a significant advancement in its Prairie Lithium Project located in Saskatchewan, Canada. The Company has successfully obtained the well license for the first well at Pad #1, marking a pivotal step in the project's progression.

Key Highlights:

  • Well License Approval: AZL has achieved a critical milestone with the approval of its first well at Pad #1 of the Prairie Lithium Project. This approval is a testament to the Company's commitment to advancing its lithium projects in North America.

  • Construction Completion: The construction of the well pad is now complete. This sets the stage for the drilling of the well, which is on schedule to commence in the first half of 2024.

  • Pilot Plant Testing Underway: The Company is currently conducting pilot plant testing of Prairie brine using a highly selective and efficient third-party Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) technology. This testing is crucial for validating the technology's effectiveness in lithium extraction.

  • Proven DLE Technology: AZL has a history of success with the third-party DLE technology, having previously produced high purity Lithium. This technology is slated for commercial production, reinforcing the Company's confidence in its operational plans.

  • Final Phase of DLE Evaluation: The ongoing pilot plant testing of Prairie brine material represents the third and final phase in evaluating the DLE technology. This phase is critical in ensuring the technology's readiness for commercial-scale operations.

Arizona Lithium's commitment to the sustainable development of its lithium projects is unwavering. The Big Sandy Lithium Project and the Prairie Lithium Project are both integral to the Company's strategy to meet the growing demand for lithium, a key component in renewable energy technologies.

Arizona Lithium Managing Director, Paul Lloyd, commented: “Receiving approval on our first well is an extremely positive step forward for the Prairie Project. With the well pad built, and the well licence approval in place it allows us to move into the planning and execution phase for drilling the initial wells, advancing AZL another step closer to production in the first half of 2025. These wells are the cornerstone for our first commercial DLE facility.”
