City of Sydney Christmas program revealed

WHAT:                        Details of the City of Sydney’s Christmas program will be announced in front of the state’s tallest Christmas tree at Martin Place.

 

Starting this weekend, markets, concerts, choirs, lights, decorations and Santa will ensure Sydney sparkles for four weeks of festive fun.

 

The media launch will feature live performances by the Australian Girls Choir, a visit from Santa, his beautiful big sleigh, a sneak peak of what’s on offer at the Martin Place Christmas markets, and this year’s charity partner - Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation.

North Sydney Council’s SRV Application Not Approved by IPART

The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) has not approved North Sydney Council’s application for a Special Rate Variation (SRV). Council had sought an increase of 45% in 2025/26 and 29% in 2026/27 to repair Council’s financial position, maintain existing services, fund the renewal of ageing infrastructure, and deliver strategic priorities for the changing and growing population. Riverina Water Workers Return to Work as Industrial Commission Process Agreed

Riverina Water workers have today returned to work following a second round of strike action, after management and union representatives agreed to further discussions. Riverina Water and the United Services Union (USU) have jointly committed to seeking the intervention of the New South Wales Industrial Relations Commission (IRC) to oversee further discussions on this matter and on productivity measures that could offset the costs of harmonising working hours.
