GMHBA 2 mins read

GMHBA has claimed three Five Star awards in the annual Canstar Health Insurance Awards, recognising outstanding value to consumers seeking hospital insurance.

GMHBA’s personalised approach and exceptional customer service saw GMHBA win the Canstar Outstanding Value Hospital Insurance Award category in Victoria, Queensland and the Northern Territory.

It’s the second year in a row GMHBA has won the Outstanding Value Hospital Cover for Victoria.

GMHBA was praised for continuing to provide outstanding value in its hospital policies and competitive premiums. GMHBA’s Silver Plus, Bronze Plus and Bronze Essential policies were particular standouts, having no excess payments applied to hospital admissions for same day surgeries.

GMHBA CEO David Greig said GMHBA supported members through almost 126,000 hospital admissions and more than 60,000 surgical procedures in the past financial year alone.

“We have been investing significantly in providing great products, services and experiences for our members and our patients. In the past six months we’ve experienced the strongest growth in membership that we’ve had in almost five years,” he said.

“We’re incredibly proud to support our 328,000 members nationally and these awards reinforce our commitment to delivering outstanding quality and value healthcare experiences for all health journeys”.

Mr Greig said GMHBA offered members more than just private health insurance. The leading not for profit regional health insurer opened a multidisciplinary GMHBA Hub in July, with a second to open its doors in 2024, improving accessibility to regional Victorians and bringing together services such as dental, GP, physiotherapy, and eyecare under the one roof.

“We strive to enhance the health and wellbeing of our members, customers, and the communities we serve. Our expanding health services portfolio now includes eye care, dental care, primary care, and physiotherapy allowing us to play a more significant role in our members’ health journeys,” he said.

The annual Canstar Health Insurance Awards is considered the gold standard in the health insurance industry, showcasing excellence in value, coverage, and customer satisfaction.

GMHBA won the following Canstar 2023 Health Insurance Awards:

  • Outstanding Value Award: Hospital Insurance – VIC
  • Outstanding Value Award: Hospital Insurance – QLD
  • Outstanding Value Award: Hospital Insurance – NT
