Friday November 17 is National Agriculture Day. Experts from La Trobe University are available to discuss key themes relating to Australia’s agriculture future.

Associate Professor Jim Radford

Department of Environment and Genetics, School of Agriculture, Biomedicine and Environment

Dr Radford can speak to:

  • outcomes of landscape change on ecological communities and native wildlife in agricultural landscapes
  • practices to increase the ecological sustainability of farming
  • integrating nature conservation into productive farming systems
  • natural capital accounting for sustainability reporting in agriculture

Professor Tony Bacic

Director of La Trobe Institute for Sustainable Agriculture and Food

Expertise: A leader in plant biotechnology, Professor Bacic is focused on the structure, function and biosynthesis of plant cell walls and their biotechnological application as well as the application of functional genomics tools in biological systems.

Dr Kim Johnson

Department of Environment and Genetics, School of Agriculture, Biomedicine and Environment

Expertise: Plants for Space (Plants For Space - ARC Centre of Excellence (plants4space.com)
