Media Notification

Thursday 16 November 2023 - For Immediate Release

On Friday 17 November, Danebank will host a service on behalf of the James family to celebrate the life of their precious daughter and our beloved staff member, Lilie James.

The service will be live streamed into St Andrew’s Cathedral for the St Andrew’s Cathedral School community to view together. The family has requested the service be private for friends and the School community only, and that it is not accessible by, or broadcast to the media.

We will respect the family’s wishes and the Cathedral will be closed to the media for the service. In line with the family’s wishes, St Andrew’s Cathedral School will not be making any statements to the media.

There will be a limited area for media near Bathurst St, close to St Andrew’s Cathedral, at a respectful distance from the cathedral entrance.

Any photographers will be requested to not take identifiable photos of students and families grieving.

We appreciate this is inconvenient for journalists, but we ask you to show sensitivity to the family’s wishes at this time.
