Mont Royal Resources (ASX:MRZ) – Bohier Project Delivers High Grade Li2O Results

Mont Royal Resources Limited (ASX:MRZ) 3 mins read

Mont Royal Resources Limited (ASX: MRZ), a leading exploration company, is thrilled to announce significant progress in the Phase Two lithium exploration program at the Bohier Lithium Project, situated in the prolific Upper Eastmain Greenstone Belt in Quebec, Canada.

Key Highlights:

  • Expansion of the Bohier Lithium Project footprint through Phase Two lithium exploration.
  • Outstanding high-grade results from the trenching and channel sampling program, including:
    • 6.05m @ 1.78% Li2O
    • 7m @ 1.71% Li2O
    • 1m @ 1.97% Li2O
  • Extension of the lithium target by 500 metres to the South West through ground geophysics, uncovering an additional spodumene bearing pegmatite.
  • 18 samples are currently pending results at the Actlabs laboratory facility in Val d’or, Quebec.
  • Preparations are in full swing for the 2023/24 winter drilling season, aiming to test advanced targets at Bohier.

Mont Royal Executive Director, Peter Ruse, commented: “Mont Royal is pleased to report encouraging results gained from the Phase Two of our lithium exploration at the Bohier Lithium Project. Our Technical team has now confirmed that an advanced 500m target has been outlined by the two known spodumene pegmatite outcrops and a third spodumene bearing outcrop located to the South West. This trend sits on a dyke system that identified a series of low gravity anomalies, one of which is in direct continuity of the known pegmatite exposure and extending 500m to the west. This has greatly improved our confidence to now advance towards a maiden drill program during the winter exploration season.”

Bohier Trenching and Geophysics Program: The recent work at Bohier was multifaceted, incorporating both a gravimetry survey and a trenching and channel sampling program at the Bohier pegmatite, discovered during the first lithium prospecting phase in July/August 2023. The gravimetry survey focused on the western end of the greenstone units, spanning from the property’s west end to the northeast of the pegmatite outcrops. The trenching and channel sampling aimed firstly to define the pegmatite thickness and lateral extents, and secondly to identify the source of preliminary gravimetric anomalies.

The interpretation of the gravimetric data, significantly enhanced by LiDAR data acquired in June 2023, revealed a series of gravimetric lows, indicative of pegmatites which are less dense than the surrounding greenstones. One of these lows is in direct continuity with the known pegmatite exposure, extending 500m to the west. This anomaly encompasses a small pegmatite outcrop with traces of spodumene (assay with 75ppm Li), confirming that the gravimetric low is related to the spodumene pegmatite. Additionally, five other anomalies were interpreted, varying in length from 200m to 400m.

The Phase Two exploration program encompassed a comprehensive set of activities including trenching, channel/grab sampling, ground geophysics, and an additional LiDAR survey. These efforts were directed towards ranking and prioritizing drill-ready targets for the forthcoming winter exploration season.

Among the samples collected, three have shown particularly promising results and were subsequently placed on express analysis. These results have been highlighted in this announcement. Meanwhile, 18 additional samples are currently undergoing analysis at the Actlabs facility, with results eagerly anticipated.

Mont Royal is fully committed to advancing the Bohier Lithium Project, leveraging these encouraging results to optimize our exploration strategy. The Company is poised to commence the lithium drilling program in the 2023/24 winter season, targeting the most promising areas identified through our extensive exploration activities.

This announcement underscores Mont Royal’s dedication to unlocking the potential of the Bohier Lithium Project and reinforces our position as a key player in the lithium exploration sector. We remain steadfast in our commitment to sustainable exploration practices and are excited about the future prospects of the Bohier Project.

Low- and middle-income Australians with super should not foot the bill for compensation scheme cost blowout

The Super Members Council (SMC) is urging the Government to rethink its decision to push the bill for compensation scheme cost blowouts onto Australians with super, with data in the Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook (MYEFO) released today showing super tax receipts at forecast highs. Super tax receipts are expected to increase by $10.9 billion over the forward estimates from 2025-26 compared to the estimates in March’s Budget, a 10% increase on the already-high levels estimated in the last update. Despite that, the Government is asking poorer Australians, already feeling squeezed by cost-of-living pressures, to help plug a hole in…
