Santa lights Martin Place Christmas tree

WHAT:           Santa will officially light the Christmas tree in Martin Place under a glittering fireworks display, following a sleigh ride from Circular Quay with a 65-piece marching band and elves on reindeer tricycles.

 

WHO:              Lord Mayor of Sydney, Clover Moore AO will join Santa on his sleigh ride and at the Martin Place Christmas tree.

 

DATE:             TODAY Thursday 30 November 2023

 

TIME:              6pm-8.30pm

           

WHERE:        Santa’s sleigh will be by the harbour at Circular Quay, near Aria restaurant, from 6pm.

 

A photo opportunity with Santa and the Lord Mayor at the sleigh at Circular Quay will take place at 7.45pm.

 

The sleigh will then travel from Circular Quay, along Pitt Street, to Martin Place with a marching band and elves on reindeer tricycles.

 

The tree in Martin Place will be lit under a fireworks display at about 8.25pm.

We’re expecting large crowds so please plan to get there ahead of time.

 

For accreditation purposes, please let us know if you plan to attend either the sleigh photo opportunity or the official lighting of the tree at Martin Place.
