Event:                   NATIONAL BOYS CHOIR OF AUSTRALIA “SING CHRISTMAS” CONCERT

Time/Date:         5:00PM, SUNDAY DECEMBER 10TH

 Place                    MELBOURNE TOWN HALL

Despite the proliferation of Christmas decorations in shops and streets, you still don’t feel like untangling your tinsel. You’re not hearing those bells jingling either nor are you hearing the HO HO HO! from the Old Man himself.

In fact, you’re not feeling very “Christmas-y” at all?

Well, there’s one sure fire way to fix that and it’s to get yourself, family, and friends along to hear the National Boys Choir of Australia SING CHRISTMAS! Tickets: trybooking.com/events/landing/1132859

Artistic Director of the NBCA, Andrew Bainbridge says: “This year’s Christmas concert will be a ripper! Everyone will be performing and together they sound superb,” he enthused.

”You won’t just hear the angelic tones of the Performing Choir; you’ll hear the Training Choir, The Young Men’s Choir, and the combined Boys and Men’s Choir performing with guest organist Tony Halliday, playing that magnificent pipe organ in the Town Hall,” he declared.

The featured work at Sing Christmas will be John Rutter’s Fable with Music “Brother Heinrich’s Christmas”.  This is the legend of the 14th-century Dominican monk and mystic, Heinrich Suso

who transcribed the carol In dulci jubilo after it had been sung to him by a band of angels; he is unexpectedly aided by Sigismund, his donkey.

Originally composed for choir, orchestra, and narrator, the NBCA has been given special permission by the composer to adapt the script and present it as a semi-staged and costumed work. The costumes have been made by Maddy Connellan, and staging will be by guest director, Nathan Jetson.

The concert will also include a wide variety of well-known and new carols, and Christmas songs, for a joyful celebration of the start of the Christmas season.

After a challenging year marked by cost-of-living pressures, social media age restrictions and global instability, Australian families are being encouraged to give the gift of kindness and connection this Christmas. Leading child protection organisation Act for Kids says the festive season offers a timely opportunity to get back to basics and focus on what matters most. A recent Act for Kids survey of 300 children aged 10 to 16 across Australia found an overwhelming three in four children (76 per cent) felt most connected to their family when doing something as simple as talking in person about their day. Act…
