Queensland Pacific Metals Ltd (ASX:QPM) – Successful HPA Demo Plant Campaign

Queensland Pacific Metals Ltd (ASX:QPM) < 1 mins read

Queensland Pacific Metals Ltd (ASX:QPM) ("QPM" or "the Company"), in partnership with Lava Blue, is thrilled to announce the successful completion of its High Purity Alumina (HPA) Demonstration Plant campaign. This significant milestone marks a new era in HPA production, with the plant successfully producing 62 kg of >99.99% (4N) High Purity Alumina.

Exceptional Purity Levels Achieved

The HPA produced at the Demonstration Plant not only met but significantly exceeded the targeted purity levels. On average, the purity across various blends approached 5N (99.999%), surpassing the initial 4N threshold. This achievement underscores the advanced technological capabilities of the QPM-Lava Blue partnership and positions the company at the forefront of HPA production.

Strategic Transport of HPA Blends to the United States

In a strategic move to tap into new markets, QPM has transported six blends, each approximately 10 kg, of this high-grade 4N HPA to the United States. These blends, having undergone rigorous assay tests confirming their exceptional purity, are now ready to be presented to potential offtakers.

Targeting the LED Market

QPM, with the assistance of a specialized US consultant, is actively engaging with potential offtakers, primarily focusing on the lucrative LED market, known for its use of sapphire glass. The provision of these HPA blends for testing by potential offtakers represents a significant step towards establishing QPM as a key player in the global HPA market.

A Testament to Technical and Operational Excellence

The successful operation of the HPA Demonstration Plant and the production of high-grade HPA is a testament to the technical prowess and operational excellence of both QPM and Lava Blue. The primary objectives of confirming the HPA flowsheet for the TECH Project and producing samples for offtake marketing purposes have been successfully achieved, paving the way for future advancements and collaborations.
