Loyal Lithium (ASX:LLI) – Focused Drilling Program Underway at the Trieste Lithium Project, James Bay, Quebec, Canada

Loyal Lithium Limited (ASX:LLI) 2 mins read

Loyal Lithium Limited (ASX:LLI) ("Loyal Lithium" or "the Company"), a leader in lithium exploration, is excited to announce the commencement of its winter drilling campaign at the Trieste Lithium Project, located in the James Bay region of Québec, Canada. This focused and cost-effective drilling program is set to cover up to 2,500 meters, targeting the significant spodumene bearing pegmatite dykes of Dyke #04 and Dyke #05.

The Trieste Lithium Project, known for its six spodumene bearing pegmatite dykes within a 20km² fertile metasediment host zone, is strategically positioned between the Trieste Greenstone Belt and Tilly granitoid. The initial focus on Dyke #04 and Dyke #05 comes after these sites displayed impressive spodumene mega crystals at the surface and recorded strong mineralization of up to 7.60% Li2O via recent rock chip and channel sample assays.

Loyal Lithium is committed to efficient capital allocation, achieving substantial reductions in drilling costs by partnering with service providers and utilizing camp facilities from the nearby First Nation community of Mistissini. This approach not only supports local communities but also enhances the sustainability and cost-effectiveness of the project.

The Company's decision to recommence drilling at the Trieste Lithium Project is bolstered by recent discoveries in the region. Both Midland Exploration, in partnership with Rio Tinto at the nearby Galinée project, and Azimut Exploration at their Galinée project, have confirmed lithium mineralization from spodumene-bearing outcrops or drill core results in early 2024. Additionally, the nearby Winsome Resources (ASX:WR1) Adina-Jamar project, with a JORC Inferred Mineral Resource Estimate of 59 Mt at 1.12% Li2O, further confirms the presence of a significant lithium-bearing system around the Trieste greenstone belt.

Loyal Lithium is well-capitalised for this venture, with $9.6 million in cash reserves dedicated to conducting this focused, low-cost drill program. The Company is eager to deliver additional strong results from the Trieste Lithium Project and will keep its investors informed as drill core assay results are received. An alternative assay provider has been engaged to ensure a quicker turnaround time for these results.

Loyal Lithium remains dedicated to exploring and developing high-grade lithium resources, contributing to the growing demand for this critical mineral in the global market. The Company looks forward to sharing further updates and progress from the Trieste Lithium Project.

Loyal Lithium’s Managing Director, Mr. Adam Ritchie, commented:

"We are thrilled to announce the recommencement of drilling at the Trieste Lithium Project in collaboration with Dahrouge Geological Consulting and our new contracting partners from the nearby Mistissini community."

"Our successful 2023 summer program at Trieste resulted in a major lithium discovery, and we are now eager to further define and grow this discovery throughout 2024."

"The Trieste Greenstone Belt has emerged as a significant hub for recent lithium discoveries, with four companies actively exploring within an 18km trend. Considering the bushfire restrictions of last summer, the region is likely still underexplored, and the true potential of the area is yet to be fully revealed."

“We believe that this focused and low-cost drill program is the most effective and strategic way to continue to advance the Trieste Lithium Project whilst maintaining a healthy cash position."
