Trusted Australian brand shakes up weight loss in 2024

When it comes to weight gain, recent stats released in December from the Australian Bureau of Statics reveal over 65% of Australians are overweight or obese.

Australia’s leading ready-made meal company, Lite n’ Easy, is pivoting to inspire those wanting to lose weight and get healthy, by introducing a new weight loss program that can work quickly so then people who want to lose weight can see results in the first two weeks.

“People are more time poor than ever and we recognise that many Australians skip breakfast regularly because of this. To help make breakfast time easier and quicker we have introduced a high quality, nutritious protein shake that can be used as a fast and convenient breakfast. The protein shakes can also be used as an on the go snack or protein boost by people who are living more active lifestyles,” said Accredited Practising Dietitian for Lite n’ Easy Ashleigh Jones.

31-year-old Paramedic, Michaela, says, “As a health professional who has worked as a paramedic for over 10 years, I have a food first approach to weight loss and healthy living, so I had been so wary of shakes in the past, how could I trust what’s in them?”

“Now Lite n’ Easy has introduced a protein shake, I know I can trust it, especially when their dietitians have helped create the formula,” added Michaela.

“Most other shakes on the market contain huge ingredients lists and non-nutritive or “artificial” sweeteners such as aspartame, sucralose, stevia and xylitol. While these sweeteners do not contain any sugar, many people dislike their flavour. For some people, certain sweeteners will cause gut issues such as bloating, gas and even diarrhoea,” Ashleigh added.

“To make sure everyone can enjoy these shakes, we’ve chosen to avoid non- nutritive sweeteners. Instead, we use a small amount of sugar to make sure the shakes taste great without being overly sweet. We’ve been sure to keep the sugar minimal – far less than you would get in a typical sweetened milk beverage,” she said.

Lite n’ Easy believes eating well is at the heart of health and wellbeing. Their dietitians and chefs create delicious, modern dishes, all nutritionally balanced and perfectly portioned to make healthy eating or weight management simple and enjoyable. Healthy meals are prepared daily using the freshest, quality ingredients. The Australian brand has been delivering nutritious meals and snacks for more than 30 years. Lite n’ Easy has been awarded first place in the Canstar Blue “Most Satisfied Customer” award in the “Healthy Meal Delivery Service” category, recording five stars for food taste & quality, freshness, variety, ease of ordering, delivery, customer service, value for money and overall satisfaction.

British Veterinary Association Ends Opposition to Vegan Diets for Dogs

SOUTHAMPTON, ENGLAND / ACCESSWIRE / July 25, 2024 / The British Veterinary Association (BVA) has ended its opposition to (nutritionally-sound) vegan diets for dogs. Until recently, its opposition was regularly reported. However, the BVA also has a corporate partnership with Mars Petcare, which makes large sums from selling meat-based pet foods. Stated Andrew Knight, veterinary Professor of Animal Welfare: "The Mars-BVA partnership represents a significant conflict of interest. Veterinary associations have a responsibility to ensure their positions are evidence-based, up-to-date and not influenced by conflicts of interest." Following such critique, in 2023 the BVA ceased its public statements opposing vegan…
