Come walk or jog with us in Huskisson! We are in this together!

Dementia Australia 2 mins read

The 2024 Huskisson Memory Walk & Jog is nearly here with the event taking place on Saturday 17 February at Voyager Park.

Dementia Australia’s largest fundraising event hopes to attract thousands of people across Australia to help raise more than $2 million in support of people living with dementia. Funds raised at our upcoming event in Huskisson will help advance the work of Dementia Australia which delivers invaluable support, education and resources for people living with dementia, their families and carers.

Memory Walk & Jog is about being part of the community and feeling supported. We are in this together, which is why participants can walk, jog or run and select from either 3km or 6km.

Registrations for the Huskisson Memory Walk & Jog are still open and we’d love to see as many people as possible walking, jogging, or running at Voyager Park. It’s a great day out, raising money and awareness for such an important cause.

Dementia Australia spokespeople are available for media stories. Please contact Ash Blakemore, Senior Media & Communications Advisor, 0448 170 672, [email protected].

Graded sensorimotor retraining shows similar benefits to all people with chronic low back pain

Researchers have found the benefits of graded sensorimotor retraining for people with chronic low back pain are likely to be similar across a range of people, rather than being limited to specific subgroups. Low back pain affected 619 million people worldwide in 2020 and contributes the largest share of the disability burden. The research investigated whether eight clinical and psychological variables modify the effect of treatment on pain intensity and disability levels. New research has found that the benefits of graded sensorimotor retraining are likely to be similar for all patients with chronic low back pain. Low back pain is…
