Intra Energy Corporation Limited (ASX: IEC) – Spodumene Identified at the Maggie Hays Hill Project

Intra Energy Corporation Limited (ASX: IEC) 2 mins read

Intra Energy Corporation Limited (ASX: IEC), a leading explorer and developer of critical minerals, is excited to announce the discovery of significant spodumene occurrences within outcropping pegmatites at its Maggie Hays Hill (MHH) Lithium Project. This discovery marks a significant milestone in the project's development and highlights the potential for a substantial lithium resource.

During a comprehensive mapping and rock sampling program initiated as part of the acquisition due diligence process, spodumene was identified in pegmatite rock samples. These findings complement the previously reported high levels of tantalum (390 ppm) and niobium (482 ppm), underscoring the economic potential of the MHH Lithium Project.

The spodumene, occurring as 1-2cm crystals and forming around larger quartz and feldspar crystals, represents approximately 5-10% of the sample by visual estimation. This discovery is particularly notable as the spodumene crystals display a range of colors from translucent to off-white, with a unique property of glowing orange under ultraviolet light, a characteristic indicative of high-quality lithium mineralization.

In addition to the rock sampling, a field mapping campaign has identified several more pegmatite outcrops across the project area, with many regions still to be explored. Concurrently, a soil geochemical survey is underway, with 591 samples already dispatched to the laboratory for analysis. Preliminary assay results are anticipated by mid-March, which will provide further insights into the project's potential.

In a strategic move to accelerate the project's development, Intra Energy Corporation Limited has also completed the transfer of an 80% interest in the E63/2039 tenement to the company, solidifying its commitment to the MHH Lithium Project.

IEC Managing Director, Ben Dunn, commented:

“The identification of spodumene at surface on an outcropping pegmatite vein is tremendously exciting and validates the acquisition of the Maggie Hays Hill Project. We are very excited by the prospectivity of the MHH Project and with the exploration program in full swing under the supervision of Todd Hibberd, our Principal Geologist, we believe there is more good news for IEC shareholders in the near future.”
