lululemon 3 mins read

The new shoes will include casual and performance options, available in women’s and men’s styles.

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA: lululemon announced today that its footwear collection is launching in Australia on 19 March 2024. Applying more than 25 years of innovation in creating performance apparel, lululemon first entered the footwear category in 2022 with women’s shoes available in select markets.

Now, lululemon is bringing its footwear offering to Australia for the first time with casual and performance innovations for both women and men.

“We’re so excited to be launching footwear in Australia and finally offering our guests a head-to-toe solution,” stated Paul Tinkler, Vice President lululemon Australia & New Zealand.

“With 25 years of insights, expertise and innovation in our DNA, applying this to a new category felt like the natural next step for us.”

As lululemon enters the footwear space, its commitment to addressing its guests’ unmet needs remains a priority. With the goal of achieving an unparalleled fit for all, lululemon designed custom lasts for both male and female feet, incorporating unique attributes into the respective designs. The brand studied the differences in foot shape between men and women, taking into consideration how the body moves and then fine-tuned designs for specific activities.

“At lululemon, every product we make is designed to embody our feel-first philosophy, which is rooted in the belief that when you feel your best, you perform your best.” said Sun Choe, lululemon Chief Product Officer.

With new performance running shoes and our first-ever casual sneakers we can now outfit both men and women in versatile gear from head to toe. Extensive research, wear-testing and ambassador feedback went into each of these designs to ensure a perfect fit, no matter the activity.”

lululemon’s footwear collection features a total of six styles consisting of casual, running and training shoes. By understanding the biomechanical and foot morphology differences between female and male feet, and their dynamic movements during activities, lululemon has built a shoe with superior fit. The collection includes:

Women’s and men’s:

  • lululemon beyondfeel running shoe: A running shoe engineered with superior cushion and comfort experience underfoot, including a softer heel to toe glide, so the run feels effortless, and the miles feel like they’re melting away. Available in both men’s and women’s styles.

  • lululemon cityverse casual sneaker: A versatile and stylish casual sneaker that provides superior comfort for all day wear through a cushioned midsole and contoured insole for a premium step in and underfoot experience. Available in both men’s and women’s styles.

  • lululemon restfeel slide: An elevated slide for post-workout. Leveraging the same design philosophy that drives lululemon’s performance shoes, delivering unparalleled feel and aesthetic for the guest who wants something easy to slide on. Available in both men’s and women’s styles.

  • lululemon beyondfeel trail [launching May 2024]: The brand’s evolution of the road-to-trail running shoe that protects your foot from trail elements, while still maintaining breathability and flexibility. The beyondfeel trail running shoe features directional traction and a lugged outsole to handle every dip and turn, a durable, supportive upper that stands up to rocks, dirt and debris, and the same supercritical foam midsole as the beyondfeel running shoe to cushion underfoot while running on uneven terrains. Available in both men’s and women’s styles from May 2024.

Exclusively women’s:

  • lululemon chargefeel shoe: A cross-training shoe designed for gym training and short runs with a dual density midsole for energy dampening and return, and an upper that provides midfoot lock down. Designed for women first in the chargefeel2 low and chargefeel2 mid styles.

  • lululemon strongfeel shoe: With a lightweight, supportive upper, this shoe secures your movements during explosive exercises like jumping and cutting. Its low-profile cushioning and multidirectional traction provide power and stability for any workout. Designed for women first, available online only from 19 March.

Additional footwear innovations will continue to be added to the category, including special material iterations, seasonal colours, and more.
