Student art in a professional space: A Central Vision 2024

 

Gosford Regional Gallery is pleased to partner with the NSW Department of Education for 2024’s A Central Vision. A Central Vision is held annually at Gosford Regional Gallery and showcases the best selected works from Central Coast public secondary schools. This important exhibition provides the opportunity for young artists to present their works in a professional gallery setting to a wide audience.

 

Gosford Regional Gallery director Tim Braham explains: ‘This exhibition has been a mainstay of our program for over 20 years. During this time an enormous number of talented artists have been part of this program.’

 

In 2024, we are pleased to present 78 artworks from Years 7-12 for exhibition from 15 schools with contributions from:

 

Brisbane Water Secondary College Umina and Woy Woy campuses

Erina High School

Gorokan High School

Gosford High School

Henry Kendall High School

Kariong Mountains High School

Kincumber High School

Lisarow High School

Narara Valley High School

Northlakes High School

Terrigal High School

Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College Berkeley Vale, The Entrance and Tumbi Umbi campuses.

 

Prizes will be presented at the opening on 1 March, 6pm.

 

This includes Eckersley’s Year 12, Derivan Stage 6 Highly Commended prize for Years 11 and 12, John Ralph Camera House Photomedia Prize, Keane Ceramics Sculpture prize, Toukley Northlakes Rotary Club Art Teachers’ prize, Chroma Art Prize for Stages 4 & 5, NSW Teachers Federation - Gosford branch Highly Commended prize for Stages 4 & 5.

 

A Central Vision exhibition will run from 2 March until 7 April at Gosford Regional Gallery, 36 Webb Street East Gosford, open 9.30am – 4pm daily.
