Mark Sunday April 28 and Sunday July 28 in the diary because this when the

Scenic Rim Farm Gate Trails are GO!

Overflowing larders right on the farm, freshly picked produce from a paddock you can see, jams and chutneys made with love, olives and cheese, honey and garlic, carrots for days, farm walks, wine tastings, lamb pats, alpaca cuddles and goat giggles, these are just some of the highlights of the Scenic Rim Farm Gate Trails, and this year there’s two - one in Autumn on Sunday April 28, part of the Anzac Day Long Weekend, and one in Winter on Sunday July 28.

They are the much loved and highly anticipated days when the farmers, growers, producers, winemakers, brewers, distillers and flavour-makers across the famous region open their gates to celebrate where food comes from.

From cuddles with lambs at Towri Sheep Cheeses to fresh produce straight from the paddocks of local farms, picnic selfies with alpacas, incredible Christmas Creek garlic, stocking up on artisan dairy products and learning more about farming from the farmers, to beer and ice cream tasting at Scenic Rim Brewery, flower walks at Elderflower Farm, wandering the vines at the region’s vineyards, visitors leave with full stomachs and a love for the Scenic Rim region, its produce and its people.

At just over an hour from both Brisbane and the Gold Coast - it’s the perfect day trip, or weekend away!

Both will run from 9am to 3pm - follow @destinationscenicrim and on Facebook for more.

The full list of farm gates will be announced in March.
