Avoid Puppy Scams This Easter

Puppies Online 2 mins read
Easter is one of a few times in the year when puppy sale volumes are typically highest, as families take time off work for the school holidays. We notice that a majority of breeders will plan their litters for this time to meet the pick up in demand. Unfortunately, scammers are aware of this trend and it also results in a rise of fake scam listings and unethical breeder activity online.

We've just launched a service called PuppyMatch where we take the guess work out of finding a puppy from a great breeder. After first understanding the preferences of the family, we then provide suitable options from verified responsible breeders. The offer also includes some perks such as a puppy pack valued at over $220, partner offers, 12 month health guarantee and access to our supportive community of new puppy owners.

To promote the launch of this service, we're offering it for free to the first 100 families to register between now and the end of April, helping to make the process of bringing a puppy into the family as simple and joyful as it should be.

Key Facts:

- (ACCC) reported that in 2021, Australians lost $4.2 million dollars to puppy scams, an increase of 1000% on previous years.

- This continues with losses in the millions annually

- This is still happening regularly in Australia, as recently as last month a family was scammed out of $500 by someone online who had stolen a breeders details to advertise.

About Puppies Online:

Puppies Online is changing the way families find a puppy from a responsible breeder, eliminating scams and puppy farms.

We do this by using Australia Post's Digital ID Verification system, where every breeder that signs up has to pass an ID check before they can advertise on the site. We incur the cost for this, and it ensures buyers have peace of mind when connecting with breeders on our site. We even go one step further to guarantee the purchase, as we know that each breeder profile on the site is linked to a verified Australian breeder.
