Community turns out in force to support people impacted by dementia

Thank you to Adelaide community members who turned up in force to the 2024 Memory Walk & Jog, showing their support for Australians living with dementia. More than 1450 people walked, ran and jogged on Sunday 24 March raising a record breaking $220,000!

Dementia Australia CEO Maree McCabe AM said it was a wonderful occasion and extended her gratitude to all who participated, raised funds, spread the word and donated.

“There was an outstanding show of support from the Adelaide community who turned out in such large numbers for another year. So many people impacted by dementia find these events a great way to connect with others in similar circumstances. It is such an important day and your support means the world,” Ms McCabe said.

Ms McCabe also acknowledged everyone who volunteered at the Adelaide Memory Walk & Jog.

“It is only through the hard work of our wonderful volunteers that the success of this event is possible.”

The Adelaide event is one of the 22 scheduled Memory Walk & Jogs taking place across Australia in 2024. Details on the remaining events in the series can be found at www.memorywalk.com.au. Dementia Australia is encouraging anyone unable to participate at one of our 22 events to consider organising their own group or individual walk or jog, with a MyWay event. More details can be found at www.memorywalk.com.au/get-involved/mw.
