Intra Energy Corporation Limited (ASX: IEC) – High grade gold identified at the Maggie Hays Hill Project

Intra Energy Corporation Limited (ASX: IEC) 2 mins read

Intra Energy Corporation Limited (ASX: IEC), a leading exploration and mining company, is thrilled to announce the discovery of multiple high-grade gold assays from its recent mapping and rock sampling program at the Maggie Hays Hill Project (MHH). These significant findings mark a promising advancement in the exploration of the project, highlighting the potential for substantial gold deposits.

Exceptional Gold Assays Uncovered

The current exploration efforts have yielded remarkable gold grades from rock samples collected at quartz veins within the project area, including:

  • 15.6 g/t gold (MRK006)
  • 17.8 g/t gold (MRK009)
  • 5.4 g/t gold (MRK013)
  • 4.1 g/t gold (MRK016)
  • 4.0 g/t gold (MRK010)

These results underscore the high-grade nature of the gold mineralisation present at Maggie Hays Hill.

Discovery of Two Gold Lode Systems

The exploration team has successfully identified two distinct gold lode systems, named East and West lodes, each extending over 130 metres and trending north-south in alignment with the local stratigraphy. Notably, both lodes are open along strike and at depth, with potential extensions of approximately 300 metres in both directions. This opens up exciting opportunities for further exploration and resource definition.

Historical and Ongoing Exploration Efforts

Historical exploration, including a five-hole RC drilling program on the western side of Maggie Hays Hill, previously identified significant gold intercepts. Additionally, a historical drill hole on the eastern side intersected gold in mafic volcanic rocks, associated with disseminated sulphides and quartz.

Future Exploration Plans

Building on these promising results, Intra Energy Corporation plans to conduct infill soil sampling and detailed field mapping to delineate the scale of mineralisation further. The aim is to evaluate several historically identified gold anomalies that have yet to be explored, thereby unlocking the full potential of the Maggie Hays Hill Project.

IEC Managing Director, Ben Dunn, commented:

“The identification of gold mineralisation at surface in outcropping quartz veins at the Maggie Hays Hill Project adds to the existing compelling lithium exploration plan to generate shareholder value. IEC intends to follow up both targets with vigour”.
