International Cake Show Australia to bring the stars and the sweetness to Brisbane from April 12 to 14:

Here’s what you need to know!



From April 12 to 14, Brisbane will be home to the world’s leading edible cake artists and decorators for the 2024 International Cake Show Australia!

There’ll be a spooky Sugar House of Horror, Barbie Cakes, Australian and International Cake Artist Superstars, Life-Sized Bumblebee Transformer, Cookie Titans, Floriade Market,

a Haute Couture Wedding Cake Challenge set by star wedding dress designer George Wu, and record entries!


It’s Australia's huge cake and cookie decorating, baking and sugar art show; think edible art gallery meets Willy Wonka’s famous factory, a food festival, culinary college and shoppers paradise all in one!  Images HERE

At the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, there’s be over 100 free demonstrations, celebrity chefs and sugar heroes, unbelievable huge sugar features, hands-on workshops, classes to suit every experience level, Australia’s largest cake and cookie decorating competition (and you’re invited to enter), pop up shops and more! Most activities except the paid classes, are free with the ticket entry and children 12 and under are free. Here’s WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW AND DO!

  • Visit the 3m high Bumble Bee Transformer Cake - a great photo moment!
  • Enter the Ultimate Australian Cake & Cookie Decorating Competition - there's categories for kids and absolute beginners and $25K in prize money up for grabs!
  • Do a Make & Take Mini Class or two - low cost, fun, hands on cake and cookie mini classes held right in the middle of the show. Attracts a huge number of families every year.  Learn to decorate like a pro! A huge range to choose from.... learn to make super cute fondant animal cupcake toppers, lions, pigs, teddies, you can even make a cheeky gecko or if you want something more traditional learn to pipe trending buttercream cupcakes like a pro! 
  • Walk through the Sweet House of Horror - for the thrill seeking family - 12 m x 6m of spookieliciousness - enter at your own risk!
  • Community Build - Help Build the World's Tallest Cookie Tower!!
  • Visit the Huge Sugar Features - immerse yourself in the 3m x 3m edible Rainforest
  • Visit the Superstar Stage - watch 6 of the world's best extreme cakers compete and 3 Rising stars try to keep up with them. Lots of competitions and giveaways.
  • Visit Kids Corner for face painting and fun activities and be wowed by the gravity defying cake sculptures
  • Watch all the amazing free demonstrations. Five stages holding hourly baking and decorating demonstrations across all three days. Sunday is about everything BARBIE! 
  • Visit Sweet Street for all your sweet delights, food truck alley for the best food trucks in town or visit all the pop up shops to pick up a bargain. 


  • Definitely visit the House of Sweet Horror - it's so spooky you’ll need to hold hands!! Four rooms packed full of ghouls, demons and ghosts, there's even a cemetery.
  • What's more romantic than flowers! Visit the Sweet Floriade Market. You'll feel like you're in Paris or a little quaint French Village.
  • Win their heart with sweet treats. Chocolates, macarons, cakes, cupcakes, donuts, overloaded cookies or brownies, the choice is endless.
  • Share a sweet-as experience - do a mini make and take class together!
  • Record the date – snuggle up for a photo in front of one of the unbelievable huge sugar features.  
  • Chill at the competition zone - it's a cross between an edible art gallery, a culinary museum and a Willy Wonka factory! 
  • Um….. if you're really loved up, visit the Bridal Zone or the Haute Couture Marquee. 
  • Say hello and grab a selfie with one of the many celebrity chefs and sugar heroes. 



  • There’s hundreds of mind blowing sculpted cakes at the show. If you visit the competition zone be prepared to go slow and make sure your phone is charged! 
  • The Sweet House of Horror is unique. There's never been anything like this attempted anywhere in Australia. Sugar Artists from right across Australia and across the globe have worked for months on this - the Hall of Horror, Toy Room, Banshee Banquet Room, Graveyard and more.
  • The Floriade Market is packed full of hand crafted edible flowers and fauna that are SO realistic!
  • The Haute Couture Wedding Cake Designers Marquee stars 10 of Australia's best wedding cake designers competing for the Australasian title - every cake is a minimum of 1 metre high!
  • The Battle of the Sugar Giant is awesome! There’s a 3m x 3m rainforest and a 3m high BumbleBee Transformer Cake!
  • International Cake Off Challenge - Superstar Stage! Three of the world's best extreme cakers are battling it out against Australia's best with the theme "Medieval with a Twist".
  • Stop one of the many celebrity bakers, cakers, cookie artists or sugar heroes for a selfie. 
  • Do a hands-on workshops – it’ll set the ‘gram alight!


  • From the moment you walk through the gates, you'll be inspired. Many of the competitors who now make unbelievable cakes, were just like you not so long ago! 
  • Enter the cake and cookie decorating competition. The beginners or students section is a great way to learn. Be warned though, this competition is addictive!
  • Do one of the many hands-on 1 hour Make and Take mini classes. You'll learn the basics from a professional. 
  • Want a once in a lifetime experience? Book into one of the fun full day hands-on workshops. All the tools, and ingredients are supplied. Each element is taught step by step. 
  • Get involved with the community build on the World of Cake stand. They'll teach you how to decorate a cookie, then add it to the cookie tower. 
  • There's more than 100 free demonstrations being held at the show, so there's lots of baking and decorating learning opportunities. 



  • The show is all about inspiring you, and encouraging you to stretch your boundaries, there's no better learning experience or opportunity to upskill. 
  • If you're serious about growing your skills, download the competition schedule and ENTER!
  • Meet the world's best cake and cookie decorators. Over the three days there's 20 incredible advanced workshops. This is your opportunity to train with the world's best. 
  • Competitors travel from all over and 27 different countries to enter – so make sure you connect with them!
  • If you're time poor, consider doing some of the many 1 hour make and take mini classes. Learn the latest trends from multi-award winning professionals.
  • Spend time at all five stages. There's free hourly demonstrations being held every day. 
  • Mix and mingle with the sugar heroes. They are at the show to share their skills with you. 
  • Attend the "Better Baking Business" sessions each day to learn about starting and running a profitable home based or professional baking or decorating business. 
  • Not social media savvy? Need to know how to take insta worthy photos that will make your products go viral? The "Social & Photo Savvy" demonstrations are designed for you. 
  • Wanting to learn all the latest trending techniques or to buy the latest must have products? All the latest products will be at the show.
