Leadership Transitions at KitchenAid Australia: Soner Omac Appointed as New Managing Director APAC, KitchenAid Small Appliances at Whirlpool Corporation

Sydney, Australia - March 2024 - KitchenAid Australia, a leading provider of premium small appliances, announces significant changes in its leadership team with the departure of Richard Thom, Managing Director of KitchenAid APAC and the appointment of Soner Omac as his successor.

 

Richard Thom, a stalwart figure at Whirlpool Corporation for the past 14 years, has decided to step down from his role to pursue new opportunities outside of the company. His tenure as Managing Director for KitchenAid APAC has been marked by exemplary leadership, unwavering dedication, and a commitment to excellence. Richard's departure, effective Thursday, March 28th, is met with both gratitude for his contributions and well wishes for his future endeavours, which will focus on spending more time with his family, including his wife and two young children.

 

Succeeding Richard Thom is Soner Omac, a seasoned executive with an impressive track record in leadership roles across diverse industries. Soner joins KitchenAid APAC from Dyson, where he spent the last nine years honing his expertise in commercial leadership. His experience spans various geographies, including Australia, New Zealand, and Asia, and encompasses renowned brands such as Hanes, Fujitsu, and DHL.

 

With an MBA from James Cook University under his belt, Soner Omac brings a wealth of knowledge and a fresh perspective to his new role. As the new Managing Director of KitchenAid Small Appliances APAC, Soner will lead the team with a focus on driving growth, fostering innovation, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. He officially assumes his responsibilities on Monday, March 4th, and will report to Ludovic Beaufils, Executive Vice President of KitchenAid Small Appliances.
