Liverpool City Netball Association (LCNA) and Mounties Care are thrilled to announce the official launch of the South West Mounties MAGIC netball team.

This partnership marks a significant milestone in the history of netball in the South West region, as two stalwarts, LCNA and Mounties, unite to form a formidable new team playing in the Netball NSW Premier League with two teams, the Opens and U23’s.

With deep-rooted ties in the South West and a shared passion for netball, LCNA and Mounties join forces to create a franchise that promises not only sporting excellence, but also community enrichment. Leveraging LCNA’s rich tradition of representation and Mounties' unwavering commitment to community and sport, South West Mounties MAGIC offers the next step for elite sports within Mounties Group.

The official launch of the new team is being marked with a special event on Saturday 16 March at Mounties.

“The establishment of the South West Mounties MAGIC netball team marks a significant milestone for netball in our region. Through this partnership with Mounties Care, we aim to not only elevate the standard of netball but also to provide a platform for aspiring athletes to thrive and succeed in the sport they love," said Rebecca Wakefield President (LCNA).

MAGIC's vision extends far beyond the confines of the court. At the core of this partnership formation was the aspiration to enhance opportunities and pathways for women in sport.

"We are incredibly excited to partner with Liverpool City Netball Association in launching
South West Mounties MAGIC. This collaboration represents Mounties' longstanding commitment to our local community and our enduring passion for fostering sporting excellence in the South West region,” said Mounties Group President, John Dean.

“We aim to forge a comprehensive pathway from grassroots participation to elite-level competition, instilling a love for netball, promoting healthy lifestyles and championing inclusivity every step of the way,” he continued.

Entering the ranks of the Netball NSW Premier League competition in 2024, South West Mounties MAGIC is primed to demonstrate that they are not just another team, but a force to be reckoned with as part of the state competition with a total of 24 players contracted across the two grades.
