Media Opportunity: Live Interview of Local President, Exhibition lead, Spokesperson and local attendees.

Cannington, WA - [02/04/2024] - The Cannington Library has teamed up with Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Perth to launch a Quran Exhibition that will feature the Holy Book of Muslims in over 30 languages. Under the banner 'Community Corner Conversations - Ramadan Edition' this exhibition is the first ever for any library in WA and will run every day throughout April.

This groundbreaking initiative is aimed to foster interfaith dialogue and promote cultural understanding. A highlight of this exhibition is the special guided tours of ‘Explore Islam’ that will run every Saturday for April. The tour participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about Islam, the Quran, Muslims, Ramadan, Eid, or any other topic they wish to explore, to facilitate open and honest dialogue in a welcoming environment.

Central to this exhibition is a father of three and a local leader of the community, Mr Rana Imran. Mr Rana is a Chartered Civil Engineer with Water Corporation of WA by the day and during his spare time has worked tirelessly to meticulously curate this landmark exhibition.

Mr Rana said “The main reason we themed this exhibition around the Holy Quran is because The Quran testifies to the truth of all previous holy scriptures of various mainstream faiths whether that be the Vedas, the Torah, the Bible or others. And in this way, the Quran lays the foundation of true interfaith harmony which is what we aim to highlight. Likewise, we want to facilitate open and honest dialogue by creating a welcoming environment.”

The Local President of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Perth Mr Anjum Qaisrani added "This exhibition is not just about showcasing the Quran; it's about fostering empathy, promoting tolerance, and dismantling misconceptions about Islam. Through this platform, we invite the community to throw their toughest questions at us or any topic really that they wish to explore, allowing us to dispel myths and enhancing awareness about the most misunderstood faith of our time."

In addition to the enlightening exhibitions and discussions, women attending the sessions will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the art of Henna, adding a vibrant and cultural dimension to the event.

All members of the community are invited to join the exhibition and thus contribute to a more inclusive and understanding society. Find us on ''Facebook' or 'X'
