Challenger Gold (ASX: CEL) < 1 mins read

PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA, April 29, 2024 – Challenger Gold Limited (ASX: CEL) is thrilled to announce a significant copper discovery within the Hualilan Gold Project area, located in San Juan, Argentina. This landmark finding comes as part of the ongoing regional exploration strategy aimed at uncovering skarn-related mineralisation along a 30-kilometre prospective strike.

Key Highlights:

  • Discovery of a 5-kilometre by 4-kilometre copper anomaly, located 5-10 kilometres southeast of the existing Hualilan project.
  • Identification of coincident iodine anomalies, known as pathfinders in major copper systems such as those found in Broken Hill and Chuquicamata.
  • No prior exploration in this overlain area, now explored using the innovative Ion Leach™ geochemical technique, proving effective in penetrating below surface cover.
  • Results are pending for an additional 1,459 samples, with soil sampling extending over an additional 150 km².

Challenger Gold has utilized Ionic Leach™ assay, a cutting-edge partial assay geochemical technique, which has been instrumental in exploring areas beneath recent surface cover. This method has proven crucial in identifying viable drilling targets within the transported cover that predominates approximately 70% of the Greater Hualilan area.
