What happens if the Gallipoli Anzac Day Dawn Service starts late or runs long?

To assist broadcasters who plan to broadcast both the Gallipoli and Villers-Bretonneux Dawn Services, the following plan is in place if (due to highly unlikely and unforeseen events), the Gallipoli Dawn Service is delayed or if it runs past 13:30:

  1. If the Gallipoli Service finishes at or before 13:30:00, the Villers-Bretonneux Service will start at 13:30:00

  2. If the Gallipoli Service finishes after 13:30:00 but before 13:32:00, the Villers-Bretonneux Service will be delayed and start immediately after the Gallipoli Service finishes.

If you wish to be advised on any last minute or unforeseen changes to broadcast times, including if the Villers-Bretonneux Service is to be delayed or updates on host broadcast details, please contact Kriena Ryan, ABC Coordinator in Sydney on kriena.ryan@abc.net.au

Due to the complexity of Kriena’s role on the day, she will not be available on the phone during the broadcast.

*As with all live broadcasts this is the plan but it is subject to unforeseen events.  Broadcasters must be flexible enough in their coverage to allow for unforeseen and last-minute changes.
