Public Health Association of Australia 2 mins read

The latest preventive health research into fields like vaping and tobacco control, Indigenous health, school canteen food, climate change, and maternal health are on the agenda at Preventive Health Conference which begins in Darwin today.

More than 360 experts will gather at the Darwin Convention Centre for the three-day annual event which is hosted by the peak body Public Health Association of Australia.

Highlights include an oration by Dr Donna Ah Chee, the CEO of the Central Australian Aboriginal Congress on Thursday afternoon. Dr Ah Chee’s lecture is entitled ‘The politics of prevention: Aboriginal community-controlled health services from self-determination to post-Referendum.’

Media are invited to attend in person, or via virtual passes from [email protected].

The program includes plenary sessions on community collaborations, nutrition and physical activity, and preventing the health impacts of climate change.
